NON-IMMIGRANT VISA

Non-Immigrant Visa

 

Required documents for ALL Type of Non-Immigrant Visa

  • An original and a copy of Passport or travel document with a minimum validity of 6 months
  • Download and complete Visa Application Form
  • Recent passport-sized photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm) of the applicant
  • Proof of an Australian Electronic Visa (for non-Australian or non-resident applicants)
  • A copy of airline ticket indicating the date of arrival to and departure from Thailand
  • Proof of residential address in Australia

* Applicants bearing no Australian visa (i.e. eligible to enter Australia for tourism purpose on a visa exemption scheme) or bearing Visitor (Subclass 600) visa will not be eligible to apply for any category of non-immigrant or other semi-permanent visa to Thailand. The said applicants are eligible to apply only Transit or Tourist visa to Thailand.

** For Nigerian nationalities and passport holders, Certificate of Clearance from NDLEA and authenticated by The Ministry of Foreign Affair of Nigeria and Royal Thai Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria is required.

Additional Required Documents for EACH Type of Non-Immigrant Visa

1. Non-Immigrant Visa type "ED" (For Education)

Purpose of Visit:

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to study or do the internship in Thailand. There are 2 categories of a Non-Immigrant “ED” Visa: Single Entry and Multiple Entries.


Additional required documents:

  • A copy of a school’s profile, registration or license in Thailand
  • Transcript/Letter of acceptance from the concerned schools/universities or institutes in Thailand indicating length of stay and your field of study

The validity of a Visa

Single Entry:   The validity of a visa is 3 months from the date of issue.

Multiple Entries: The validity of a visa is 12 months from the date of issue.


Period of Stay

Travelers will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 90 days.


 

2. Non-Immigrant Visa type "B" (For Business and Employment)

Purpose of Visit:

This type of visa is issued to applicants who are entering Thailand for business purposes, such as attending a conference, training session or conducting the business negotiation. There are 2 categories of a Non-Immigrant “B” Visa: Single Entry and Multiple Entries.


Additional required documents:

  • A copy of verification letter from your employer stating your position, length of employment, date, and purpose of visit. In the case of the business’s owner, please provide relevant documents.
  • An invitation (or any equivalent nature such as email, etc.) from concerned company/organization in Thailand indicating the length of stay and purpose of your visit.

Single Entry:   The validity of a visa is 3 months from the date of issue.

Multiple Entry: The validity of a visa is 12 months from the date of issue.


Period of Stay

Travelers will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 90 days unless he or she has a valid working permit in Thailand.


 

3. Non-Immigrant Visa type "O" (For Dependent, Spouse and family visit and spouse of Thai national)

Purpose of Visit:

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to visit their family in Thailand. There are 2 categories of a Non-Immigrant “O” Visa: Single Entry and Multiple Entries.


Additional required documents:

  • A proof of relationships such as marriage certificate or birth certificate.
  • A confirmation letter from your spouse or family member with copy of their Thai ID card and house registration.
  • A copy of the visa or work permit of a spouse or parent who is currently working in Thailand

Single Entry:   The validity of a visa is 3 months from the date of issue.

Multiple Entries: The validity of a visa is 12 months from the date of issue.


Period of Stay

Travelers will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 90 days unless he or she has a residence permit.


 

4. Non-Immigrant Visa type "O" (For Volunteer or NGO)

Purpose of Visit:

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to visit Thailand for a volunteer to work in a non-government organization in Thailand.


Additional required documents:

  • An invitation or acceptance letter from the concerned organization in Thailand indicating position, responsibilities, and length of stay in Thailand
  • A copy of the concerned organization’s registration or license in Thailand as a non-profit organization
  • A copy of passport or I.D. card of a person who signs an invitation or acceptance letter

The validity of a Visa

Single Entry:   The validity of a visa is 3 months from the date of issue.


Period of Stay

Travelers will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 90 days.


 

5. Non-Immigrant Visa type "O-A" (For Retirement long stay)

Purpose of Visit:

This type of visa is issued to the applicant who is an Australian national or a permanent resident currently residing in Australia whose age is 50 years orover. The applicant for this type of visa will be permitted to enter and stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 1 year. Employment of any kind is strictly prohibited. 


Additional required documents:

The following documents must be provided in 2 sets (1 original set and 1 copy set):

·         Passport or travel document with minimum validity of 18 months. Applicant must be an.

  • Download and complete Retirement Visa application form/personal data form/medical certificate form
  • A bank statement in the past six months showing a deposit account with the minimum fund of THB 800,000, or an income statement with a monthly salary of THB 65,000 or a deposit account plus monthly income of THB 800,000 a year.
  • A police name-check certificate issued no longer than 3 months prior to date of the application.
  • A medical certificate indicating that the applicant has no prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535 (1993) issued no longer than 3 months prior to the date of application with signature of the doctor and seal of the hospital/clinic on the certificate to confirm its authenticity
  • An original copy of the health insurance policy from an Australian insurance company OR an original or a copy of the health insurance company from one of the participating Thai insurance companies listed in https://longstay.tgia.org which covers the whole period of stay in Thailand with a minimum coverage of THB 400,000 (in-patient) and THB 40,000 (out-patient)
  • Download and complete Foreign Insurance Certificate

The validity of a Visa

The validity of a visa is 12 months with multiple entries


Period of Stay

Travelers will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 12 months and in accordance with the validity of the health insurance (if less than 12 months)
