Thailand Visa

You can find information for applying for Thai visas below.

No appointment is required. Applications can be made in person or through a representative. However, it is strongly encouraged that applicants are made in person, as officers may request an interview or additional documents from applicants. The Royal Thai Embassy assumes no responsibility for increased processing fees, times or lost passports incurred through the use of agents. 
 
All nationalities can apply for a visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh. However, applicants from some countries may have additional requirements and require approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok which may take over one month to process. Visa applications take at least 3 working days to process (including day of submission and pickup). For example, applications made on Mondays will be processed not before Wednesday, applications made on Thursday will be processed not before the following Monday. 
 
There is no expedited service. Faster processing is available for medical emergencies only (A note from a hospital in Thailand is required).  
 
Attempts to offer bribes (money or otherwise) to Royal Thai Embassy staff in exchange for waiving of requirements or expedited visa processing will result in the application being automatically rejected and possible ban from entering Thailand.

  • Non-Immigrant Visa "B"
    Non-Immigrant Visa "B"
    This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom for the business purposes, including to take up employment in Thailand, to attend business meetings in Thailand and to teach in Thailand.
  • SMART Visa
    SMART Visa
    Smart Visa is a new type of visa specially designed to attract highly skilled manpower, investors, executives and startups entrepreneurs wishing to work or invest in the following targeted industries in the Kingdom of Thailand. Smart Visa holders will be granted maximum 4-year permission to stay, exemption from the work permit requirement and entitled to additional privileges.

    This type of visa may be granted to applicants who wish to invest or perform other activities relating to investment, subject to the provision of the established laws on investment promotion.

    Upon official request, the Royal Thai Embassy may grant visas to diplomatic or official passport holders who wish to enter Thailand on official functions or assume duties at a foreign Diplomatic Mission or Consulate or International Organisation in the Kingdom

    This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom to study, to come on a work study tour or observation tour, to participate in projects or seminars, to attend a conference or training course, or to study as a foreign Buddhist monk.
  • Non-Immigrant Visa "F"

    This type of visa may be granted to holder of ordinary passports who wish to travel to Thailand for official purposes.
  • Non-Immigrant Visa "O" (Volunteering)

    This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to participate in voluntary services in Thailand.
  • Non-Immigrant Visa "O" (Family member/Dependant of Thai visa holder)

    This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to accompany spouse or family members working, studying or living in Thailand.
  • Non-Immigrant Visa "O" (Thai Family)

    This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom to stay with Thai spouses/children
  • Non-Immigrant Visa "O" (Retirement)

    This type of visa may be issued to applicants aged 50 years to initially stay in Thailand for 3 months and may be extended at Immigration Offices in Thailand.
  • Non-Immigrant Visa  “O-A” (1 year Long Stay)

    This type of visa may be issued to applicants aged 50 years and over who wish to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 1 year without the intention of working.
  • Non-Immigrant Visa “O-X” (10 years long stay)
    Non-Immigrant Visa “O-X” (10 years long stay)
    This type of visa may be issued to applicants aged 50 years and over who wish to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 10 year without the intention of working. Holder of this type of visa is allowed to stay in Thailand for 5 years each time (total 10 years). Employment of any kind is strictly prohibited.
  • Transit Visa

    This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom for the following purposes:
    to travel in transit through the Kingdom in order to proceed to the country of destination or to re-enter his/her own country,
    to participate in sports activities and the person in charge or crew of a conveyance coming to a port, station or area in the Kingdom
