Top Stories : Thailand's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs launched an exhibition to showcase the country's approach to sustainable development

On March 1, 2017, H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand presided over the opening ceremony of exhibition "The Lifetime Journey of the World's Development King and the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for the SDGs" , and the Geneva launch of the first volume of the South-South in Action Publication Series “Sustainability in Thailand: Experience for Developing Countries”, at the UN Office at Geneva, Palais des Nations.

 

The exhibition presents real-life projects based on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as how member states can cooperate with Thailand through "SEP for SDGs partnership". 

 

The exhibition was preceded by the launch of the journal ‘South-South in Action - Sustainability in Thailand: Experience for Developing Countries Dialogue’ with Mr. Jorge Chediek, UNOG Under-Secretary-General for South-South Cooperation. In this volume, Thailand’s best practices in implementing SDGs are shared in the South-South spirit of joint efforts towards sustainable development.
