Thailand has been striving to achieve sustainable, inclusive, people-centred and equitable social and economic development. The country’s economic approach is guided by                His Majesty the King’s sufficiency economy philosophy to create a balanced and stable development and strengthen community’s ability to appropriately cope with critical challenges arising from extensive and rapid changes in the current global situation.

Thailand also engages with various international organizations in economic field such as the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to improve and strengthen the country’s trade, investment and development policy; the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to use ICT to help connect people and embrace the power of information and communication technologies; and the World Economic Forum to foster exchange of leaders’ views on trade and investment as well as enhance relations with international investors.
