  • Team Thailand in Madrid participated in the ASEAN Day Ceremony
    On 8 August 2019, Team Thailand in Madrid participated in the ASEAN Day Ceremony, hosted by the Embassy of Indonesia to commemorate the 52nd Anniversary of the foundation of ASEAN. At the ceremony, representatives of Spanish public and private entities, diplomatic corps and ASEAN community in Spain were present. In his remarks, Ambassador of Indonesia, Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Madrid, stressed on the development of ASEAN since its establishment, its contribution to the regional stability, its priorities which include the conclusion of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific, envisioning a prosperous, peaceful and inclusive ASEAN and beyond.
  • Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid visited the Port of Huelva
    On 5-6 August 2019, a delegation of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid visited the Port of Huelva in the south of Spain. In 2018, the Port of Huelva, halal-certified by Halal Food and Quality, a Halal certify body in Spanish city of Valencia, was the 6th most important port of the European country. Thanks to increasing business activities at the Port, its Authority has decided to improve the Port’s facilities and expand its terminal to serve with the rising demand of its customers. During the visit to the Port, Ms. Kongsri met with Mr. Jose Ignacio Alvarez-Ossorio, General Manager of the Port Authority of Huelva and Mr. Francisco Jimenez, Operation Manager of Yilport Holding Huelva, a container terminal and operator in the Port of Huelva to discuss on the promotion of economic relations between Thailand and Spain. Representatives of the Port wish to see more Thai products entering Spain through the Port of Huelva and encourage Thai private sector to seek business opportunities at the Port, situated in the Spanish region of Andalucia.
  • Mobile Consular for Thai Workers at the Town of Olmillos, the Province of Soria
    On 3rd August 2019, the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid organized a mobile consular activity for Thai citizens working in the agricultural field in the town of Olmillos, Soria Province. In this occasion, the delegation from the Embassy visited the camp of the workers and discussed about their living condition. The members of the Embassy were welcome by the executives of Florette, the employer of the Thai worker, who is content with the Thai workers. After the mobile consular and meeting with the employer, the Embassy hosted lunch for the 70 Thai workers and friends of Thailand in Olmillos.
  • Thai Ambassador to Spain attended monthly meeting of ASEAN Committee in Madrid
    On 23 July 2019, H.E. Mr. Krerkpan Roekchamnong, Thai Ambassador to Spain attended monthly meeting of ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM) at Indonesian Residence in Madrid. Besides exchanging views on current political situation in Spain and ASEAN, the ACM also discussed on activities to be carried out in 2019 to further strengthen relations between Spain and ASEAN in all dimensions, including ASEAN Film Festival and ASEAN Education Forum. Indonesian Ambassador, host of the Meeting and ACM Chair, has invited Mr. Tomas Gonzalez, President of Spain-ASEAN Business Association, and the Association’s Board Members to attend the meeting, whereby both sides talked about joint efforts and cooperation to further enhance economic relations between Spain and ASEAN.
