  • Representative of the Embassy participated in the event aimed to promote Muay Thai in Spain New
    On 19 October 2019, representative from the Royal Thai Embassy participated in the seminar and Muay Thai training “Bangrajan Event,” which took place at Gimnasio Madrid Box in Rivas. The highlight of the event was the instruction and techniques provided by Namsaknoi Yuttakarnkumtorn, well-known Thai boxer. Approximately 100 participants from Spain and other countries in Europe joined the event to learn the original Muay Thai techniques. Namsaknoi’s fighting skills is much admired in Spain as well as his style of “wai kru.” He is considered one of the Thai boxers who has the most “wai kru” style.
  • Charge d'affaires met with promoters of Muay Thai in Spain New
    On 18 October 2019 Charge d’affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy met with the promoters of Muay Thai in Spain, who extended invitation to Namsaknoi Yuttakarnkumtorn, well-known Thai boxter to train Muay Thai for those who are interested in Muay Thai in Spain. Both sides discussed on ways and means to promote and preserve the originality of Muay Thai. The meeting was followed by the Thai luncheon for the delegation. During the past 2 – 3 years, Muay Thai has gained popularity in Spain. In Madrid there are more than 30 gyms that offer Muay Thai training and more Spanish have gone to Thailand to learn the original Muay Thai.
  • The Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid organized activities to commemorate the Passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great
    On 10th October 2019, the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid organized activities to commemorate the Passing of His Majesety King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great at the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid. Activities include merit-making as well as commemoration ceremonies. The event is participated by members of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, Team Thailand in Madrid, as well as Thai citizens residing in Spain.
  • Halal & Muslim Friendly Tourism Workshops
    On 3 October 2019, Halal Institute of Cordoba (IH), in collaboration with Halal International Tourism (HIT) and European Tourism Association (ETOA), organised “Halal & Muslim Friendly Tourism Workshops” at Arabic House in Madrid. The activity is aimed at creating awareness of business opportunities in the Muslim-Friendly Tourism. At the seminar, Mr. Aree Binprathan, a Thai Academic who joined a delegation of Thai experts in Halal tourism to visit Spain last June, was invited to share Thailand’s best practices and experiences in the development of Muslim-Friendly Tourism.
