  • Delegation of Thai judges attended a briefing on Spanish Supreme Court New
    On 19 February 2019, a delegation of 37 Thai judges, who participate in a capacitation course for Chief Judges: Batch17, attended a briefing on Spanish Supreme Court at the General Council of the Spanish Judiciary in Madrid. The Thai delegation learned of structures and responsibilities of different Chambers of the Supreme Court and exchanged information regarding the Thai judicial system with their Spanish counterpart.
  • Chargé d’Affaires of Thailand took part in the opening ceremony of Trade and Investment Opportunities in ASEAN Seminar.
    On 7 February 2019, Ms. Natenapa Kongsri, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid, took part in the opening ceremony of Trade and Investment Opportunities in ASEAN Seminar. The representative of the Royal Thai Embassy talked about economic opportunities and important developments in ASEAN Community that Spanish business persons could take advantage of. In this regards, she invited Spanish private sector to explore business opportunities in ASEAN.
  • Thai silk in Spain
    Thai silk has entered the high fashion stage in Spain. Maria Lafuente, top Spanish designer used Thai silk from the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Technique under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand as her iconic material in her Autumn/Winter 2019 Collection under the name Fah-Pratan (Gift from the Sky).
  • Thailand joins FITUR 2019
    Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) led by Ms. Srisuda Wanapinyosak Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Europe, Africa, Middle East and Americas and TAT Rome Office participates in Feria Internacional de Turismo-FITUR in Madrid during 23 – 27 January 2019 at IFEMA Feria de Madrid. On 24 January 2019, TAT hosted the Networking Luncheon for travel companies and tour agencies to promote Thailand`s travel strategy and plan for 2019. According to TAT, in 2018, the number of tourists from Spain visiting Thailand accounts for 180,000, reflecting 2 per cent growth from the year before. For 2019, TAT projects the growth of 5 per cent. According to FITUR, this year’s edition will be its biggest ever with the participation of 886 stand-holder exhibitors and more than 10,487 companies from 165 countries and regions; and it is forecasted to to have an economic impact in Madrid of over €325 million.
