  • Chargé d’affaires (a.i.) of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid gave an interview for a Spanish media regarding the situation of the outbreak of the coronavirus in Thailand and its effects on the country’s tourism New
    Chargé d’affaires (a.i.) of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid gave an interview for television “La Sexta” regarding the situation of the outbreak of the coronavirus in Thailand and its effects on the country’s tourism. The Chargé d’affaires reassured the Spanish tourists that the Thai government has monitoring the situation closely and all necessary measures i.e. the health screening at international airports, piers and borders have been applied in line with international standards. Though there are reports of increasing number of patients in Thailand, the Thai government is in full control of the situation. Additionally, Thailand is also working closely with WHO as well as the international community in order to contain the spread of the virus. The tourists who are in Thailand can have the updated information of the situation on the website of Ministry of Public Health at www.moph.go.th and a hotline service 1422 is to provide help for those who have or may have signs of the symptoms.
  • Charge d’affaires (a.i) met Secretary-General of Spain-ASEAN Business Association New
    Charge d’affaires (a.i) met with Mr. Antonio Viñal, Secretary-General of Spain-ASEAN Business Association on 24 January 2020. At the meeting, both sides exchanged information and views on activities aimed at promoting economic relations between Spain and ASEAN. The Association’s plans in 2020 is to organize business seminars to encourage Spanish business in the field of infrastructure, food and beverages and tourism to invest more in ASEAN. Such activities are much welcomed and will have participation from ASEAN including Thailand.
  • Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid received Chairperson of Global Summit of Women Spain
    On 15 Jan 2020, Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid received Ms. Margarita De Cos, Chairperson of Global Summit of Women (GSW) Spain and had a discussion regarding participation of GSW Spain and its delegation at the Global Summit of Women 2020 in Thailand during 23-25 April 2020. The Summit, which will celebrate its 30th Anniversary this year, aims at empowering women and promoting their business opportunities. It is expected that 1,000 women leaders in business and government from all over the world attending the Summit.
  • A Reflection on Thailand’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2019
    Thailand’s ASEAN Chairmanship officially ended on 31st December 2019. ASEAN continues to carry the torch by handing over the Chairmanship to Viet Nam according to the tradition of alphabetical rotation of the Chairmanship amongst Member States. Like the stalks of padi in its emblem, ASEAN’s progress is the result of the accumulated efforts of all its members, inspired by their forefathers and driven by shared interests. Nonetheless, if one might ask what legacy the Thailand’s Chairmanship has left for future citizens of ASEAN, there are a few things we can proudly mention.
