Legalisation

Legalisation


1.    Applications for document legalisation should be submitted to The Consular Section, Royal Thai Embassy, 29 Queen’s Gate (Basement), London SW7 5JB. Monday – Friday from 0900 - 1200 hours. Last queuing ticket is issued at 1200 hours. 

No appointment is required. However, for your convenience of services, please kindly check the Embassy's working hours and official holidays here. 
 
2.    Please have the following ready:
 
For documents issued in the United Kingdom

 

Documents must be prior-certified by the Legalisation Office, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) 
PO BOX 6255, Milton Keynes, MK10 1XX, Tel. 03700 002244 
For full details about FCO legalisation.
 
1.    The original document(s) to be legalised, certified by FCO (UK)
2.    A copy of every single page including an apostille page from FCO (UK)
3.    Legalisation application form and a copy of applicant’s passport for reference (** Non-Thai can omit this requirement)
4.    A fee of £10 per document is required in cash or postal order made payable to the Royal Thai Embassy, London.

 

Document Collection
 

Documents will be ready to collect after 2 working days (up to 10 documents / 2-3 working days, more than 10 documents / 4-5 working days).


Collection hours: Monday - Friday from 0900 - 1200 hours at the counter service, Basement floor. A queuing ticket is required for the counter service.


For the application by post, tracking your application can be done only by email after 10 working days since the Consular Section receive the application with a proper postal reference number. For non-registered post, tracking can be also done but the Embassy is not liable for lost or damaged item.
 

 ** Postal service may be considered on a case-by-case basis with the postal return service organised by the applicants at their own responsibility.

 

For Documents Issued in Ireland
 
Documents must be prior-certified by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

A Public Office providing the services are available in the Passport Offices in Dublin and Cork.

The office is Dublin is now located at 42-47 Lower Mount Street, Dublin 2. The opening hours are 09:30 to 12:30 and 14:30 to 16:00 Monday-Friday. All enquiries regarding the service and the public office in Dublin can be made by calling 01 408 2174.

2.    A copy of every single page
3.    Legalisation application form and a copy of applicant’s passport for reference (** Non-Thai can omit this requirement) 
4.    A fee of £10 per document is required in cash or postal order made payable to the Royal Thai Embassy, London.


Applicants residing in Ireland wishing to apply for legalisation by post, should enclose a self-addressed envelope and a bank draft payable to the Royal Thai Embassy, London for the fee of £10 per document.
 
For special delivery, please enclose an additional bank draft payable to the Royal Thai Embassy, London for
- £9 if documents weigh less than 500 grams
- £11 if documents weigh over 500 grams.

Power of Attorney / Certify Signature for Applicant who is not a Thai National

Unfortunately, the Royal Thai Embassy in London (RTE) does not hold the power to certify other nationals’ signatures. Therefore, we require you to first have your signature signed, witnessed by a UK solicitor or a Notary Public and then send your document(s) to be legalised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) or the Department of Foreign Affairs in Ireland (DFA) for Irish Nationals. After the mentioned process is completed, you can the document(s) to be finalised by the Royal Thai Embassy, London.

The list of translators below is provided to facilitate the process of document certified correct translation for the applicants. The Embassy dose not involve in or accepts any responsibilities for any services provided by the translators.
