How to Apply for a Visa in Person

When to Submit your Application

1. The Embassy is open for visa application from Monday - Friday during 09.00 am - 12.00 pm (except Embassy's Holidays). The last queuing ticket will be issued at 12.00 pm. No appointment is required. It takes one working day to process a visa.

2. Visa fee must be paid in pound sterling (£) and in cash or postal order only. 
3. The applicant's passport must have at least 6 month validity on the applying date.

 

Please note: We will keep all supporting documents. If you wish to have your documents back, please make photocopy before submitting your visa application. 

** Do not apply for a visa earlier than 3 months before your date of travel. **


Passport and Visa Collection

If your application is successful, you can collect the passport and visa on the next working day between 11.00 am - 12.00 pm. Anyone with the receipt ticket can collect the visa on your behalf at the counter No. 3 (No appointment/queuing ticket is needed.)

For example: if you apply for the visa on Monday, you can collect the visa on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Or if you apply for the visa on Friday, you can collect the visa on Monday. Please check the Embassy's Holidays before coming to the Embassy.

Tourist Visa (maximum stay up to 60 days)

Required Documents:

Single Entry (maximum stay of up to 60 days)

  • A current passport with validity of over 6 months beyond the date of application.
  • Visa application form completely filled out.
  • Two (2) recent photos of the applicant.  

Multiple Entries  (maximum stay of up to 60 days for each entry) 

  • A current passport with validity of over 6 months beyond the date of application.
  • Visa application form completely filled out.
  • Two (2) recent photos of the applicant.
  • Original bank statement of the applicant. showing a balance of least £5,000 (for the past 6 months) or a print out with official stamp of the bank.
  •  A letter from the applicant's employer in the UK or Ireland, addressed to the Royal Thai Embassy.
         - If you are self-employed, your self-assessment and a company registration document are required.
  •  A photocopy of the confirmed return air ticket to Thailand.
  •  A photocopy of the confirmed hotel reservation in Thailand.

Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as deemed necessary.

Non-Immigrant Visa

For other purposes than tourism, please submit evidence substantiating the purpose of your stay.

Examples of such evidence are:

  • Transit: a confirmed travel document (air ticket, etc.) showing Thailand as point of transit. 
  • Business trip (Non-immigrant "B"): a letter of invitation, a confirmation letter of employer and/or a letter from a business counterpart in Thailand. 
  • Going to working in Thailand: a letter of employment from your prospective employer, addressed to The Royal Thai Embassy, and a copy of the company registration certificate in Thailand.  
  • Settlement in Thailand with Thai spouse/children/parents (Non-immigrant "O"): photocopy of certificate of marriage, birth certificate, Thai passport or Thai National ID card of the Thai spouse or children. (Please DO NOT send the original.)
  • UK Pensioner (Non-immigrant "O"): a copy of UK State Pension.
