VISA : Tourist Visa (single or multiple entry)

The Royal Thai Embassy will be closed on 25.12.2018 – 6.1.2019 due to the relocation of the chancery to a new office at Lönnrotin puistikko 5A2, 00120 Helsinki.

TOURIST VISA  From 13 November 2015, the multiple-entry tourist visa will replace the existing double-entry and triple-entry tourist visas and therefore there will be only 2 types of tourist visa: single entry and multiple entries.

TOURIST VISA

This type of visa will be issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom of Thailand for tourism purposes only.
Note: Applicants who would like to stay in Thailand longer than 3 months  should apply for Non-immigrant visa. More information, please click here.

Travelers with tourist visa will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 60 days from the date you arrive Thailand. You can apply for the extension of stay for 30 days from Immigration office. With tourist visa must be travelled to Thailand in 90 days after you submit visa application.

Finnish passport holder arrives Thailand with the airplane, permitted to stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 30 days and be able to apply for extension of stay only one time (30 days) at the immigration office nearby. If the application of extension deny, you need to leave the country within 7 days.

1. A Passport or Travel Document  (validity of not less than 6 months on the arrival date in Thailand and contain at least ONE completely empty visa page) Visa cannot be processed without the passport.

2. A copy of Passport (The page(s) that shows your photo, name, date and place of birth and the expiration date of passport)

3. A Completed and signed visa application form. (Completed and signed by the applicant.)  Children must have their own visa application and the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must sign the form on the child's behalf Click here to download.

4. Visa fee 30 €. The fee must be paid in cash when you submit the visa application. 

5. One recent colour passport photographs, taken within the last 6 months.

6. A fully paid flight tickets in English entering and leaving Thailand within 90 days period in English or Finnish. Flight ticket to Thailand must be from Finland/Estonia or show the whole route from Finland/Estonia to Thailand.

7. Current bank statement of the applicant showing the balance of 600 euro for last 3 months (1200 euro per family with the same surname) in English or Finnish.  In case that applicants submit the applications as a family, please provide an Extract from Population System in Finnish or English language from Notary Public. The bank statement must show account owner. 

8. Foreign nationals (other than Finnish/Estonian): Copy of valid residence permit in Finland, which valid until the end of your trip.

9. If applied by mail, please send an application at least 3 weeks in advance We do not have a telephone  answering service for your visa status.


- Residents in Finland: please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope with sufficient postage for the return of passport. 
- Residents in Estonia: Return envelope fee is 16.50 euros. Please  also enclose a self-address envelope. (We do not accept  international  coupon as exchange for postage.) More information for updated postal fee please check with www.posti.fi

10. Consular officers reserve the rights to request for additional document as deemed necessary and also reserve the right to reject any application without having to provide reason.
 

 
 

METV (Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa)

 

Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa

The Royal Thai Embassy wished to announce that on 28 July 2015, the Thai Government launched the “Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa (METV)” scheme in addition to the existing sixty (60) days tourist visa. METV will come into effect from 13 November 2015 and a sixty (60) days tourist visa with “double (2)” and “three (3) entries” will no longer be available.

The validity of METV is six (6) months and the duration of stay is up to sixty (60) days per visit. The application fee of an METV is  150 Euro.

Required documents:

6. A fully paid flight tickets in English from Finland/Estonia enter to Thailand and leaving Thailand within 60 days period (first entry) in English or Finnish.

7. Proof of accommodation in Thailand (at least for the first entry).

  • Copy of  hotel reservation
  • Rental accommodation: copy of lease or rental agreement
  • Your own accommodation: proof of ownership house or apartment. For example: house registration document
  • Stay with your friend: An original invitation letters from an invitor, copy of his/her Identity Card or passport copy signed and copy of house registration document.

8. Current bank statement of the applicant showing the balance of 6,000 euro for last 6 months (12,000 euro per family) in English or Finnish. The bank statement must show account owner.

9. Proof of Occupation:

  • If employed: certificate of employment indicating position in the company and monthly salary
  • If student: certificate from your Finnish school, university or institution
  • If self-employed: evidence of business ownership (company registration)

10. Foreign nationals (other than Finnish/Estonian): Copy of valid residence permit in Finland, which valid until the end of your trip.

Visa Processing Time:
Applying in person:- Applications will be processed and ready  in 4 days. (For example, if you apply a visa on Monday morning, your visa can be collected on Thursday morning.)

Collection date for visa is specified on a payment receipt. Always bring the receipt and ID card when collecting a visa.
 

Note: The visa application can be submitted no earlier than three months before the planned trip.
