    Sri Lanka-Thailand: Two Nations, One Family Photograph Exhibition in Kandy
    Royal Thai Embassy, Colombo, in collaboration with Kandy City Centre, Buddhist Channel and Thai Airways Sri Lanka, held a photographic exhibition entitled “Sri Lanka- Thailand: Two Nations, One Family” on 11-14 September 2014 at Kandy City Centre (KCC), Kandy. The exhibition, which displayed 60 photographs taken by Ms. Jiratha Narapittayanart, a young Thai photographer, aims to promote the unique cordial and long-standing cultural and religious relations between Thailand and Sri Lanka and could be the solid foundation for strengthening and deepening the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all aspects.

    Since the seizure of the administrative power on 22 May 2014, the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has worked hard to bring back happiness to the Thai society. The NCPO announced the 3-step Roadmap to bring back true democratic system to Thailand. The NCPO is now proactively laying the ground work for national reform to be taken up in Phase 2 of the Roadmap. The provisional constitution has been enacted since 22 July 2014.

    On 15 June 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy, Colombo and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mumbai Office, jointly organized the first MuayThai workshop in Sri Lanka, at Hilton Colombo Hotel.
    The workshop was joined by 40 participants and demonstrated by Mr. AriyawatBusarabavonwongs (PremFairtex), the Managing Director of Fairtex Sports Club & Hotel Company and DekbungjongFairtex, the young Muay Thai’s rising starfrom the Fairtex Gym.

    Thailand –Sri Lanka Cultural Exchange at Dipaduttamaramaya Temple, Colombo
    On 10th June 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy and the Dipaduttamaramaya temple organized a Thailand – Sri Lanka cultural exchange performances at the auditorium of the temple. The programme included traditional Thai dance and music by the Art Association for Youth, Office of National Culture Commission (AAYONCC) and Sri Lankan cultural performances by students from Gunananda Vidhayalaya and Prince College. Around 300 students and teachers from both schools attended the event.

    On 29 May 2014, Mr. Sek Wannamethee, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand held a press briefing for foreign journalists on the current situation in Thailand. The briefing was co-hosted by Lt. Gen. Chatchalerm Chalermsukh, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Army. Fifty-two foreign journalists from thirty-three News Agencies attended the briefing.
