News & Activities : The Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo organized a merit making ceremony on the occasion of the Memorial Day of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great

On 11 October 2019, the Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo organized a merit making ceremony on the occasion of the Memorial Day of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great for the year 2019 at Shree Jayasekhararamaya Maha Viharaya, Colombo. H.E. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Sri Lanka, and Mr. Vichai Chartsuwan, Ambassador’s spouse, presided over the ceremony. The event was attended by about 35 participants, including officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, officials of the Thai Airways International, board members of the Sri Lanka – Thailand Society, and board members of the Sri Lanka - Thailand Business Council, and members of the Thai community. Ten monks from Shree Jayasekararamaya Temple performed the religious ceremony. Afterwards, participants offered dhana and alms to the 10 monks.

In addition to the merit making ceremony, the Embassy will organize a Wreath Laying and Candle Lighting Ceremony to pay homage to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great on 13 October 2019.
