  • Invitation for Nomination for Prince Mahidol Award 2014 New
    The Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo would like the peoples of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as well as Republic of the Maldives to nominate individual (s) or institution(s) whose outstanding performance and/or research that contributes directly to the betterment of society for the 2014 Prince Mahidol Awards 2014 through the Embassy by 21 May 2014.
  • Thai Ambassador to Sri Lanka gave 260 almsbowls to Malwatta and Asgiriya Maha Nayaka Theros to celebrate 260 Years of Siam Nikaya in Sri Lanka
    On 25 March 2014, H.E. Mr. Nopporn Adchariyavanich, Thai Ambassador to Sri Lanka, paid respect to Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangalabida Maha Nayake Thero, Maha Nayake Thero of the Malwatte Chapter of Siam Niakaya at Malwatta Temple and Venerable Udaugama Saddhrma Keerthi Sri Rathanapala Buddharakkithabhidana, Maha Nayake Thero of the Asgiriya Chapter of Siam Nikaya at Asgiriya Temple in Kandy. On this occasion, Thai Ambassador also gave 260 almbowls, which were made of stainless steel and etched with the emblem of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, to the Malwatta and Asgiriya Maha Nayaka Theros, as the special token in the commemoration of 260th Anniversary of the establishment of Siam Nikaya in Sri Lanka in 2013.
  • Thai Food Promotion in Colombo, Sri Lanka
    Royal Thai Embassy, Colombo, in association with Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mumbai Office and Cinnamon Grand Hotel Colombo recently organized “Thai Food Promotion” at Cinnamon Grand Hotel. The event was opened on 20 February 2014 by H.E. Mr. Nopporn Adchariyavanich, Thai Ambassador to Sri Lanka. Around 200 people from the Diplomatic Corps, high-ranking officials, businessmen, media and celebrities in Colombo participated in the opening reception.
  • Thailand intensifies cooperation with the BIMSTEC partners at the Third BIMSTEC Summit in Nay Pyi Taw
    On 2- 4 March 2014, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed Thailand’s delegation in attending the 3rd Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit and related meetings in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. The Prime Minister of Thailand has entrusted the Permanent Secretary to represent her as the Special Envoy to the 3rd BIMSTEC Summit. The Permanent Secretary was also entrusted by Minister of Foreign Affairs to represent him at the 14th Ministerial Meeting.
